How is the fiscal year in Costa Rica?

From October 1st to September 30th.

When is the time line to present my Tax Return?

Sales Tax 15th of every month. Tax Return December 15. D151(1099) November 15th.

If I'm renting my property, do I need to present my tax return in Costa Rica?

Yes it is, once you have an economic activity in Costa Rica you have to present you tax return. Make your Bookeeping, Update your Legal Books and present the forms.

What tax taxes do I have to pay?

If you are renting your unit for short term you have to pay Sales Tax 13% and Profit tax at the end of the year. If you are renting only fot Long Term just Profit Tax at the end of the year. Education and Culture Tax.

Can I apply my depreciation as an expense of my Property Corporation?

Yes you can.

If I'm collecting the rent for my guest outside Costa Rica, do I need to pay taxes and report that?

Yes it is, according Costa Rican Law once you use the Costa Rica infrastructure you have to pay tax for your incomes generated in other countries but the operation are in Costa Rica. It is really hard for the Tax Office make and investigation for this but this is what the Law say.

If I had no rentals in the year, do I need to file and present all the paperwork?

Yes, only if you unsubscribe your corporation you don't need to make anything.

For how long do I need to keep my Bookeeping?

For 5 years
